Once I realized the move was really going to happen, I struggled with the idea of how to keep communicating with the family and friends we love "back home." I had thought about creating a blog, but then chickened out. It seemed daunting and I'd taken on enough. I was mentally and emotionally exhausted from saying good-byes, packing up the house and my classroom, moving a thousand miles away, and figuring out our "new life." I've sent emails, texts, and cards, but none of those seemed to make me feel connected to my former life. The idea of creating the blog kept coming back to me. I decided it is something I should try and so it begins....
